Team Members
EAMONN OLDHAM, P.Eng.
President
Eamonn has been responsible for many critical projects both in Canada and Internationally. His experience has covered Air Traffic Control (ATC) centres, Air Defence systems, Police, Fire and Ambulance communications, communications for Emergency Preparedness, and many other aspects. He has been responsible for system design, implementation and cut-over of Military Air Communications systems and many other "Communication Centre" designs particularly for Public Safety (e.g Police & Fire). His work in 9-1-1 is evidenced in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Nova Scotia. In Nova Scotia he led the team that developed the 911 system for all the province including the PSAP's. His work covers both technology and operational aspects such as the process and procedures for call handling and communications centre administration. Eamonn has also lectured extensively in the many aspects of Emergency Communications for disaster relief.
LARRY HICKS
Chief Technical Director
Larry has a strong background in electronics design and implementation. While with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police he was responsible for a regional emergency call centre and radio network. Later, while with Motorola Canada he was responsible for technical liaison with major customers such as the RCMP, CN Rail and various Federal Government departments which included a DND project where he was the technical and training lead for a major console and radio installation project at Piarco International Airport in Trinidad. During his time with Motorola Larry was promoted to several senior technical management positions. As Technical Director of Pantel, Larry has overall responsibility for the technical direction of the company.
CALVIN ANDREWS
Director, Manufacturing & Production
With over twenty five years in the telecommunications field, Cal’s primary focus during this time has been spent in the technical side of the business. His field of experience has allowed him to work in such departments as manufacturing, system assembly and testing, customer training and technical support. Cal has commissioned multi-million dollar provincial radio systems, covering 50 radio sites, as well as numerous smaller systems. He has been involved in providing technical support for systems on an on-going basis, and is responsible for production of Pantel designed and built hardware.
REED OLDERSHAW, P.Eng.
Director, InterTalk Engineering
Reed has been at the heart of InterTalk technology since its introduction, and has been designing and supporting InterTalk systems since 1991. He is involved in all aspects of the solution including design, technology integration, commissioning, training and support. Reed has over twenty five years of experience worldwide in custom engineering solutions.
CHRISTOPHER OLDHAM, MBA, CSP
Director, Business Development
Chris is responsible for managing the commercial, and overall development of the company’s business, both from a marketing and internal process perspective. He provides our customers with a direct liaison between each department in Pantel, ensuring that all components of the project team are working in sync and that the customer always has the latest information available to them. With ten years of experience working in marketing and corporate operations, Chris provides a solid understanding of business practices to ensure Pantel delivers its best to its customers.
GIL RICHARD
Director, Software Engineering
Gil has been in the programming and networking world for over fifteen years. His experiences range from Research and Development to Administration to Networking for the Military, Universities, Energy Utilities and Public Safety, as well as the Commercial sector. Gil has proven his abilities in developing custom software solutions and interfaces, as well as specialized programs designed to meet the customer’s exact requirements and functionalities.
KEITH MACNEIL, P.Eng.
Senior System Engineer
With over 15 years of Telecommunications System Engineering experience, Keith’s primary contributions to the Pantel team are microwave radio transmission engineering, VHF/UHF/800MHz radio system design, project management/planning, and construction coordination. He has worked on numerous design/build projects across Canada for various public safety entities (including the Peel Region Police microwave radio system), utility companies, cellular service providers, federal government agencies, and offshore energy companies.
DAN ZIMMERMAN
Junior Product Development Engineer
Dan, an Engineer In Training, has a background in circuit design and PCB layout. He graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2005 with a BSc. Electrical Engineering, concentrating primarily on communications systems and analog design. The scope of his experience includes RF design, precision data acquisition, reliability work, and troubleshooting / maintenance duties.
BLAISE FRASER
Senior Technician
Blaise brings more than thirty years of continuous experience in the radio and electronics industry. He provides in-depth knowledge and skills in the practical aspects of complex systems engineering, supply and maintenance, training and documentation. With his work on projects such as the Nova Scotia Integrated Mobile Radio System (NSIMRS), Halton Regional Police Service radio system, and the NS 9-1-1 Project, Blaise has proven his expertise in providing the highest quality technical training, documentation, and support, ensuring each customer is well prepared for comprehensive use of their systems.
