Alerting & Control Systems for your Critical Operations
The InterTalk™ Fire/Site Alerting System (FAS/SAS) can operate as a stand-alone position which can be used in conjunction with any dispatch system, or it can be built right into an InterTalk console system with every console in the ComCentre able to send fire station alerts seamlessly - right from their dispatch consoles.
To insure high availability of fire station alerting, the FAS/SAS system is always provided with at least two fire station alerting mechanisms. Typically, where fire halls are connected via a municipal Wide Area Network (WAN), the primary method is via TCP/IP messages and RTP for voice. This uses standard packet handling messages for alarm notification and for voice transport over the WAN. Backup mechanisms can include: conventional radio systems using single tone signaling or DTMF; trunking system control channel data messages; paging system messaging (usually talk-back paging to ensure message delivery); leased copper lines; dial-up telephone (POTS). Other mechanisms can be accommodated.
The IFAS fire station equipment is compact and easily installed. It provides control not only of audio alarms, including programmable amplitudes, but also control of overhead lighting, remote turn-off of electric appliances, control of overhead doors, etc. FAS/SAS can use an external audio amplifier or its internal amplifier.
Options for the FAS/SAS include:
(a) remote printers at fire stations for “rip and run” applications;
(b) mobile printers for use in apparatus (depends on the radio system);
(c) Un-interruptible power supply for various standby times;
(d) high current relays for control of overhead doors, etc.;
(e) multi-agency “mutual aid” emergency system based on a collaborative website; and,
(f) store-and-forward radio relay stations intended for rural applications as either a primary FAS or as a backup to telephone call up systems.
